This game is a prototype and it was developed as part of my honours project which investigates the level design priniciples that are required to create a survival horror game.
This game is build for only windows platform 64Bit and can run on medium - high spec computers. It is highly recommened to use headphones and play the game in a dark room.
The game includes flashing lights which could cause epilepsy.

Story
Our character’s name is Ben. He is a journalist working for one of the most famous news agencies in Germany. About a month ago Ben started working on a story about the Flare virus which occurred few decades ago. He found out that the government had built a secret institution to experiment on patients who had this rare disease and that this facility was somewhere in the Black Forest. Based on Ben's research, a few reporters and investigators have tried to work on this story in the past, but they all have gone missing after trying to find this place. Rumours say that whoever enters the Black Forest never returns. Ben did not believe any of this, so he decided to assemble a small crew and go check out this mysterious forest hoping to find the institution and any clues regarding this rare virus.
When Ben and his crew entered the forest, they couldn’t find anything, so they decided to setup a camp for the night and continue the next day. Ben wakes up feeling cold and strange in his tent during the night and realizes that his crew is no longer there. Feeling strange and scared, Ben starts shouting the names of his crew. He sees a small light in the distance and tries to follow the path towards it. Ben can’t believe his eyes. He comes across a large building which he believes is the institution he was looking for. He decides to enter the building and immediately finds himself locked and lost in the building.
Ben has found himself alone and scared. He must try to find his way out while trying to look for his crew and any clues about the case. Ben must overcome any challenges that may come on this way.

For a prototype it seems really good and interesting. Only issue I had with it was the 'monster' I feel like it didn't need to be there for the prototype, and if so, the AI for it needs to at least be improved for it to have any kind of threat. But apart from that really good job and I'll like to see what comes out of this prototype.

I recommend to play the game before watching the video to avoid spoilers!
First the game visually looks clean, the story is more like puzzle solving and avoiding the monster, the bits you learn about the story through papers and wall writings is actually good. Key finding can be problematic but after a while it becomes easy. I wish the game was a bit longer maybe the next section is to be on the outside avoiding the monster and finding ways to reach your friends. This game was ok but I don't see the point of a monster walking around and then sometimes trying to catch you. I understand though that it is a prototype it has potential of course.

Great prototype! Graphics look good and there's some nice scares in here. Although the monster's movements are pretty linear and predictable, it's still intimidating all the same. I also like where the story is going and would love to see more to this game. Awesome job!

My one critique on this is that it was WAAAY too dark at times, even with my brightness at max I still couldn't see sometimes, aside from that this was amazing, you've done a great job!!

Hello, I am working on creating the full version of the game which I will be releasing in the upcoming months. Since I am a solo developer It takes a long time to finish it
The atmosphere is fantastic - it really had me sweating! The environment really sold itself to me. All that and not relying on lots of cheap jump scares makes this a great student project/horror game.
